BAT SIZING RULES

T-BALL

26" and shorter AND will feature the USA Baseball mark and text which reads: ONLY FOR USE WITH APPROVED TEE BALLS

 

BASEBALL

All bats shall be a smooth, round stick with a barrel of not more than 2 3⁄4 inches in diameter at the thickest part and not more than 33 inches in length. Shall have the USA Baseball logo to achieve consistency throughout all youth leagues.

For ages 8U: the maximum diameter shall not exceed two and five eighths (2-5/8”) inches. All bats larger in diameter than two and one quarter (2 1⁄4) inches must be "equal to or heavier" than minus 10 (- 10) for 8U. For example: -10, -9, -8, -7, -6 or -5 are acceptable length to weight ratio’s whereas -11, - 12 and -13 would not.
For 10U & 12U: the maximum diameter shall not exceed two and three quarters (2 3⁄4”)

 

SOFTBALL

The bat shall be no more than 33 inches in length, not more than two and one-quarter (2-1/4) inches in diameter, and if wood, not less than fifteen-sixteenth (15/16) inches in diameter (7/8 inch for bats less than 30 inches) at its smallest part. Non-wood bats shall be printed with a BPF (bat performance factor) of 1.20.

Bats must be stamped with USSSA certification seal but does not have to be the most current stamp.
